Kitchen Helper
The Neighborhood Table has a volunteer opportunity to assist our meal coordinators and cooks with moving food and equipment needed for each meal from our on-site storage locations to the kitchen and dining room. This need is on the day before or day of our meals in preparation of our meals. Typical hours would be one to two hours per week and are flexible depending on the needs of our meal coordinators for each meal. This opportunity would be ideal for high school students that are available an afternoon or two each week.
This volunteer could also assist in moving food to our storage location when deliveries are made from Feeding America (usually during the afternoon).
Ability to carry cases of food and supplies up and down stairs is essential.
We need volunteers who are free at these times: Occasional – Weekdays
This volunteer opportunity is available to those who are age 13 or older.

Head Cook
The Neighborhood Table has a volunteer opportunity to lead the details of food preparation for our meals. This would require a period of orientation and training to become familiar with bulk food preparation….Direct the efforts of assistant cooks and other helping in the kitchen…

Assistant Cook
The Neighborhood Table has a volunteer opportunity to provide assistance to our head cook for meal preparation. Examples of duties may include making large batches of mashed potatoes, cooking vegetables, preparing batch pans of chicken patties or salsbury steaks, etc.
